SBX on Spotify

February 7th, 2010

How many times have you been to a party where Spotify music flows from the speakers? You fight your way through to the man who operates the computer, just to demand your greatest audible wish: “Can you play a Stereobrigade song?”

In utter despair you’ve seen the man look page up and page down with bad alternatives, just to give you the look you know too well. “Sorry mate, no hit. How about a Coldplay song?”. In the haze of delirium you nod apathic, and you continue to sit down just to get so shitfaced drunk that the ugly women get ugly again, and the floor attacks you and hits you in the face. Well… No F***ing more!!!

Stereobrigade Extravaganza is now, and forever, noted on Spotify! Enjoy!

ØYO 2010

February 7th, 2010

It is with great proudness that we can announce that Stereobrigade Extravaganza has been booked to the festival ØYO 2010. As some of you may know, we played a ØYO last year as well, and this is marked as one of our greatest concerts.

This time the festival is held at two separate venues. The day concerts will be held at Arena in Leirvik, and the evening concerts will be held at the University of Stord / Haugesund department Stord.

The lineup for this festival isn’t complete yet, but we can mention some of the announced bands: Pogo pops, John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen, Flash Flood Area and Ingrid Olava. Together with Stereobrigade Extravaganza this spells success. We’re looking forward to it!

The day of the festival is the 27th of february, and tickets will be released Monday the 14th of january.

SBX takes a well deserved christmas vacation

February 7th, 2010

BUT, you don’t have to wait long! The 15th of January, the event of the year kicks off at Club Delis. Stereobrigade Extravaganza and Flash Flood Area will ring the new year in in a way a long night of high pitch sounds in your ear canals will struggle to match.

Never been to a rock concert at Club Delis, you say? Neither have we, but this will be the event you don’t want to miss in the year to come. We have a few extravagant surprises in hand, and we foresee that SBX-concerts will never be the same again after this!

SBX has more tricks up their sleeve. On the 29th of January we’ll be seen again at Café Moody in Haugesund. The concert we did there in November hit home like Mike Tyson did back in the nineties, and we can’t wait to revisit the coolest café in Haugesund.

Earlier we promised that we would get to Oslo by our own hands, and this will happen in march. Then we’ll play with our favorite split-gig band Flash Flood Area at “Gamla”, which is a central venue in Oslo. So, if you’re in Oslo this March, come by and watch us :)

Emergenza finals

February 7th, 2010

Stereobrigade Extravaganza was voted by the other bands in the competition as the best band, but in the end we made the second place in the competition as decided by the judges. We congratulate Fairy with their victory, and we wish them good luck in the national finale.

We still came home as winners despite the results. Winners are winners where it counts the mosts, with the audience. Never before have we seen so many black and white clad people in action. Shivers were sent down our spine when we entered the stage on saturday. We want to say a million thanks to everybody who showed up to cheer for us, and we can promise you this: This is only the beginning. Stereobrigade does not just lay down, and even if we have to pay out of our pockets to play in Oslo, that’s just what we’ll do. And Bergen, Stavanger, Molde, Tromøs, Mo i Rana. You name it! Look for us somewhere near you! :)

We would like to send a shout to all the other bands we shared the stage with on saturday. So: Narrowhead, Hidden Threat, In Confesso, Gluey and Green Light Go. You rocked, and we dig you! Tell us if you’re coming to Stord, and we’ll supply the after party!

We know there’s pictures out there, so they will be here as soon as we get them.

Concerts in November!

November 15th, 2009

November has come to be a busy month for SBX. We kick off at Café Moody, a small place in Haugesund which has shown an ability to snap up exciting artists, on the 5th of November.

On the 17th of November we go back to Haugesund - Haugesund prison to be exact - where we had great success the last time we visited. On our last visits the arrangers, Red Cross visiting service, served us and the inmates pizza after the concert, and there are rumors that we can expect the same wonderful treatment this time.

The 20th of november we embark on a long drive to Kristiansand for a gig in cooperation with the band Flash Flood Area(FFA). We’ve worked together with this band previously and we’re in the process of planning more concerts together with them in the future. When it comes to the exact place and time of the concerts, we can’t say right now since it’s FFA that’s the arranger in Kristiansand.

The very next day we embark on yet another long adventure and drive all the way back to Bergen and the final of the Emergenza music festival of Bergen. This is a very exciting date for SBX, and we hope that as many as possible show up at this concert to vote for us so that we can play in the national final in Oslo, May next year.

That’s our calendar for November, so if you’re in Haugesund, Kristiansand, Bergen or somewhere close, come and see us :)

Publicity around our Single, Smoking gun

November 15th, 2009

Recently we announced a review on rockeweb.com, but local newspapers has also acquired SBX’s new single.

In the Bergen newspaper BA, you can find

Review on rockeweb.com

November 15th, 2009

Our single, Smoking gun, has been reviewed on the Norwegian site rockeweb.com, which through the years have been reviewing a formidable amount of rock music. Our singled scored a pleasant 5 out of 6 points. The review says:

“Both songs have rhythm, drive, are catchy and well composed. The first song, Smoking Gun, has a little Beck in it, from his phenomenal “Mellow Gold”-era, and a little bit Eels, from his wonderful “Beautiful freak”-record. The frame is made of pop, but the band are in possession of a playfulness and an impressing ability to implement details that catches the listener in their strong vocal and moody rock matrix.”

SBX wins the Emergenza semi final!

October 27th, 2009

Stereobrigade Extravaganza won the semi finals in the previous mentioned competition, Emergenza Music Festival.

The finals will take place at USF Verftet, Bergen, the evening of the 21st of November. The exact time of our part of the concert hasn’t been decided yet, as the emergenza festival wants as much people as possible to show up early. So to all of you who are planing a trip to Verftet the 21st of November: Show up early and support the entire concert and all the other bands.

We’re also hoping for a new meeting with SBX mafia, who showed up in great numbers at the semi final. We’ve never seen so many black and white clothed people in one of our concerts before! It’s a scandal that we haven’t managed to find some photos of the beautiful people who cheered us into victory at Garage last thursday.

We’re looking forward to the final at Verftet the 21st of November.

Recording weekend, new tune, stay tuned - It Rocks!

October 13th, 2009

This weekend we gathered all our gear and borrowed all the gear we could borrow and went to a remote location to record a smokin’ hot new song. The song, which name will be kept a secret until further notice, is being mixed, fixed and uhhh.. mixed as we speak, and will be available from this very site at the moment of it’s completion.

This is yet another “homemade-to-the-bone” production, were we do everything ourselves. But, we look forward to presenting what we mean is one of our best songs yet!

Ingebrigt Rossehaug – House owner, fixer and party enginge – we ow you a big thanks!

Emergenza music festival

October 12th, 2009

The first round of the Emergenza festival in Bergen, Norway came and went. SBX was invited into the warmth of a sweaty Bergen audience like only Metallica and Bruce Springsteen has been before. With a kick ass second place(one vote behind the winners), we’re hoping for a grand slam in the next round of Emergenza festival which are the semifinals in Bergen. It’s held at Garage, Thursday the 22nd of October.

We’ve now gotten to know the voting system of the Emergenza festival. A voting system that can be a huge advantage to native Bergen bands, and a disadvantage to other bands and us. It’s therefore completely necessary that everyone we know and don’t know show up at Garage and vote for us the 22nd of october. If you want to save some money while you’re first at it, you can give a wink to the ticket master Stian Thunder and save 20 Kr per ticket.

This feat is impossible for us to conquer alone – we know you’re out there, and we need you!
